BitGo Prime, LLC (“BitGo Prime”), a subsidiary of BitGo Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BTGO), the digital asset infrastructure company (“BitGo” or the “Company”), today introduced the Global Liquidity Layer, the institutional trading infrastructure within BitGo Prime that connects clients to global digital asset markets.
BitGo Prime's Global Liquidity Layer is designed to address the operational complexity institutions face as digital asset liquidity becomes increasingly distributed across exchanges, market makers, OTC counterparties, and global markets. Institutions are often required to manage multiple trading relationships, technology integrations, and operational workflows to efficiently access global markets.
BitGo Prime addresses this challenge by bringing together global trading, financing, collateral management, and settlement capabilities, all underpinned by BitGo's regulated custody services. At the center of BitGo Prime’s trading capabilities is the Global Liquidity Layer, connecting clients to exchanges, market makers, OTC counterparties, and regional liquidity providers through a single institutional connection, reducing operational complexity.
“Institutions want infrastructure that simplifies how they operate across global liquidity, financing, collateral, settlement, and asset security without stitching together multiple providers. That is why we built BitGo Prime, and why the Global Liquidity Layer is such an important evolution of the platform,” said Adam Sporn, Head of Prime Brokerage and U.S. Institutional Sales.
The Global Liquidity Layer supports both low-touch execution and high-touch trading. Clients can connect programmatically through REST, FIX, and WebSocket APIs, Order and Execution Management System (OEMS) integrations, or BitGo’s web-based trading platform. For larger or more sophisticated transactions, BitGo’s OTC trading desk provides block trading, financing solutions, basis trades, and structured products through experienced traders who source liquidity across BitGo’s global execution network while helping reduce market impact.
Rather than relying on a single trading venue, the Global Liquidity Layer intelligently sources liquidity across exchanges, liquidity providers, and OTC counterparties throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. This enables institutions to access competitive pricing and resilient liquidity. Integrated transaction cost analysis, advanced execution tools, and in-depth reporting provide greater transparency into execution quality, allowing institutions to evaluate performance based on total execution outcomes.
“Institutional clients expect confidence in how orders are executed, transparency into pricing and costs, and the flexibility to manage assets in the way that best fits their business. Traditional capital markets have operated this way for decades. That's why BitGo’s trade offering combines liquidity sourcing with flexible settlement, financing, and custody, giving institutions the freedom to operate on their terms,” said Matt Ballensweig, Managing Director and Head of BitGo Prime Trading.
Beyond trading, BitGo Prime integrates its institutional financing, collateral management, and settlement into a unified operating platform that helps institutions manage capital more efficiently. Clients can access collateralized borrowing/lending, and portfolio-based financing solutions in addition to managing counterparty risk through BitGo’s tri-party collateral management capabilities. Eligible collateral remains in segregated custody with BitGo’s regulated custodian entity while BitGo administers collateral arrangements as a neutral third party.
For all offerings, settlement is powered by Go Network, BitGo’s proprietary settlement infrastructure enabling clients to move fiat and digital assets quickly across BitGo's regulated custody network. Purpose-built for institutional trading, financing, and collateral management workflows, Go Network is designed to mitigate counterparty risk, improve capital efficiency, and streamline institutional operations.
By bringing together execution, financing, collateral management, and settlement through a single platform, BitGo Prime reduces operational complexity and enables institutions to manage more of the digital asset lifecycle through one trusted partner.
